Two trials which composed of 11 control urines(4 chemical materials, 4 photographs of uriary sediment, 3 hCG test materials) for interlaboratory quality assesment in urialysis were performed with 214 participants in the year of 1991.
1. The performance of pH and negative samples of protein, glucose, ketone, urobilinogen, blood, bilirubin, nitrite, leukocyte were good regardless of method employed.
2. The results of positive samples revealed the low concordance rate. The most contributable reason for that was the different grade of reagent strip.
3. In case of specific gravity, the concordance rate of the refractometry method were lower than that of the chemical strip method. Further study should be required to find and improve the problems.
4. Partial participants showed the lack of basic criteria in the differentiation of urinary cells, therefore continous education for reporting the urinary sediment results is necessary.
